10/16: Mattingly's Agent: Report False
Don Mattingly's agent
has commented on the
report that cited a friend of Mattingly as a source, saying that Mattingly had told a member of he Steinbrenner clan that he was not ready to manage.
The agent, Ray Schulte, says that he spoke with Donnie and that this is untrue. He goes on to say that Mattingly wants Torre to come back, but if he doesn't, he's ready to go.
